Liisa (pronounced Lisa) grew up in Arizona and is an (almost) original Kino Kid! She attended Kino from 1976 to 1983 with Mary Jane as her first homeroom teacher! Liisa attended Northern Arizona University and The University of Arizona for her undergraduate and graduate degrees which are in Theatre and Theatre Education. From there, Liisa traveled the world with her Air Force husband, their two daughters, and numerous furry and feathered friends. Because of the many military moves, Liisa had the opportunity to live and work in a variety of places over 28 years. She started off in Arizona, then moved to Virginia, Japan, New Mexico, South Carolina, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington DC. When her husband retired in 2019, they moved back home to Tucson! Through the years, Liisa taught after school K-12 theatre classes, theatre, art, and humanities classes for multiple colleges, was the executive director of a community theatre, and most recently she taught 11th grade American Literature for an online high school. Liisa is both a student working towards a second MA in English and creative writing, and an adjunct liberal arts instructor at Southern New Hampshire University.
At Kino, Liisa is teaching junior high and high school language arts. She is absolutely thrilled to be back and part of the Kino family!
