Lisa Rakestraw was born in Southern California in 1978. She has studied evolution and ecology at UC Davis, lived with wolves in New Mexico, and searched for lizards in the Solomon Islands. She and her husband have three children, two of which attend Kino and one who is Lisa's little helper at school. She loves teaching animal science at Kino and looks forward to working with the students every day to discover something new about our Earthly companions. Lisa's philosophy toward animals could be best summed by the following quote by Henry Beston, "They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time."
