Kino kids who want to walk in the parade don’t need to have a parent accompany them in the parade itself — there will be plenty of teachers and other adults.  However — unless prior arrangements are made—   parents need to be at the end of the parade to pick up their children.

“I fly a helicopter and every now and then go over your school. It’s always a pleasure to see the windmill turning . . .because it tells me what the wind is doing on the ground. I see it’s no longer up. How may I help to fix this?”

“I fly a helicopter and every now and then go over your school. It’s always a pleasure to see the windmill turning . . .because it tells me what the wind is doing on the ground. I see it’s no longer up. How may I help to fix this?”

We realized we haven’t explained what is up with the windmill.

Ed explains  ” It started making noises so we checked it out and found that some of the nuts that attach the blades had vibrated loose.  We need to make a new blade mounting plate and put it back together with lots of Lock-tite.”

When it’s time to rehoist the windmill we’ll be sure to ask for help!

Last year our theme was the Night Sky

The parade of lights is a Tucson tradition. Every year hundreds of people gather downtown for a light filled holiday procession. Kino has participated in the past  and everyone is excited to partake in the parade this year too.

The parade is the 17th of December.  Kino’s theme this year  is the Kino Caravan.

Thursday and Friday of this week are project days! This means you should come to school prepared to paint, color, glue, cut and create your own light up costumes, floats or bicycles.

Parents are invited to parade with us. We hope to see all of you there on Saturday.
