The two performances of The Real Inspector Hound — one in the evening so families could see it, and one in the morning for the whole school – went off with only the minor hitches that make school performances extra entertaining, like when when Magnus (played by Ian) nearly fell over in his wheelchair. If [...] We put in our summer garden! Each homeroom chose what they wanted to plant, using a list of Heather’s suggestions and coming up with their own ideas. Homerooms have patches in the greenhouse, in the gardens below the primary playground, and in the terraced gardens. We planted corn, beans, watermelon, tomatoes, carrots, strawberries, chives, parsley, herbs, [...] Primary students checked out the butterflies at the Tucson Botanical Gardens on Monday. Now they are learning all about butterflies and their life cycles — both in English and in Spanish. Diego plays the role of Stan in the Live Theater Workshop ’s production of Wild Things: “Stan needs help making new friends and it comes from an unlikely source. Wild Thing, Good Things, and Funny Thing crash into Stan’s room and take him on a hilarious friend-finding mission. Their adventure leads them through the universe, to [...] Vanessa’s been taking classes at Sonoran Glass Art Academy, and she got kids excited about glass art when she took them on a field trip there, so she then organized enough students and teachers for a full day workshop. The people at Sonoran Glass are great! There were about five instructors for the fourteen of us, [...] |
