Second Day so far

Wandering around the school is always interesting because of the sheer variety of things going on.

Middle level students are also wandering around the school. They are interviewing people.

Lisa Otey is in the music room with Sofia with her guitar, Em with his banjo, Nicholas, who has a tiny ukelele, and Aaron at the drums.  There’s no music yet.

Vanessa’s Everything Lit class has started the year comparing a couple Shakespearean sonnets. I overhear Jonna say, “If they were published in the order he wrote them, it shows an emotional growth . .  He’s no longer falling in love for superficial reasons, but is in love with someone who isn’t physically beautiful.”

Over at Mary Lou’s table some students are working with algebra blocks. Someone says, “This is harder than it looks.”

Primary students have been thinking about what to name the baby goat. We’ll have a school wide meeting to discuss it soon.

Alexander:  His name should be Igloo, because he is white and his fur is as beautiful as snow.
Ryan: When you put your hand in his cage he nibbles on it. His name is Stumpy.
Dorian: The baby goat is soft. The baby goat is cute. I’m afraid to feed him because I think he has sharp teeth.
Wyatt: His name is Baby Goat.
Iolana Smith:  I named him Fluffy Smith. He makes my heart just beautiful.
Sarah:   Jackson. That’s a good name.
Colton: Josh named him Bill and I think that’s a good name.

Eli (not a primary student) suggested Billy Graham when he noticed it liked graham crackers.
