Chris Schulz

Chris has been teaching at Kino ever since he did his student teaching here in 2001.  After graduating from the U of A and becoming a certified teacher,  he has taught junior and high school math, a host of writing,  literature, and social studies classes, philosophy classes, shop, and lots of outdoor stuff.  He is especially involved in our Living Laboratory, and has taken kids on some of our most ambitious extended field trips, such as last year’s trip to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.   He became a teacher after years as a master carpenter; he built our cubbies and the long lab cabinets in the science / cooking center.

This year he is looking forward to being a home room teacher again. Among other things, he plans to teach a junior high level class called The Whole Shabang and to take a trip to Washington D.C.
